How can I get a printed catalog?

We no longer publish a printed catalog.  The last one we printed was just before 2000.  Not too many want printed catalogs any more.  Latest information on our products is on our website, and we keep the website up to date daily.  We recommend you print out the web pages if you need a copy for reference.

How can I get replacement of a lost manual?

We'll try to help you as best we can. Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files for all manuals which are available are indexed on our website for instant downloading. Look near the bottom of the Table of Contents under Reference Info or click here.  Some very old models may not be available because they were never on a computer; and all which ARE available are on the website.  Note that repeaters generally have one manual for the overall repeater (installation/ maintenance, and operation), and one manual for each module used in the repeater. It is important that you identify the model number and frequency band of each module to be able to order manuals.

How can I arrange for overseas shipment?

We can ship almost anywhere in the world.  Please look over our website and decide what it is you want to purchase, and then let us know by email.  We can quote shipping costs after we know exactly what you want and what your address is.

We normally use Global Express Mail (EMS).  Please note,  there may be customs fees and brokerage charges at your end.  For foreign shipments, please provide your street address and telephone number where UPS can contact you and the name and phone number of your customs broker if you have one.

Terms: Certified check or money order drawn on U.S. bank or bank wire.  (Sorry, we cannot accept credit cards on foreign orders.)  We can sometimes use PayPal if you are a confirmed member.  There is a 1% export fee for foreign orders.

Can I use a credit card to pay for orders shipped outside the U.S.?

We will be glad to take care of your order; however, we cannot use credit cards for foreign orders. To comply with bank rules, we must be able to verify the cardholder's address and ship to that address.  At present, the bank's computer systems only allow us to verify addresses on cards registered at U.S. addresses.  This has nothing to do with your credit or our trusting you, but simply due to increasingly stringent antifraud requirements imposed on mail order vendors by the credit card industry. Hopefully, someday the system will allow computer verification of cards registered outside the U.S.A.  Until then, we can process your order if paid by certified check or money order.  We can also use PayPal for verified members.  There is a 1% export fee for foreign orders.

Can I send my equipment in for factory service?

Factory service is available for any of our products.  Bench time is $95/hr, which includes labor and use of the expensive test equipment we maintain for that purpose.  Parts and shipping are also billed as needed.  If you send a unit for repairs/alignment, please pack it well to avoid damage and tell us briefly what you have observed.  The more details you can provide, the quicker we can find the problem.  In many cases, it also helps to remove the unit from any cabinet to save the cost of us having to remove and reinstall it and save the extra weight in shipping costs.  We normally give priority to such jobs; so we should be able to return it in just one or two days.  No RMA number is needed.

What test equipment are needed to align radio equipment?

All of our transmitter and receiver kits require alignment after construction. 

Test equipment required for alignment is about what you would expect.  In addition to a dc voltmeter, receivers require a stable, accurate signal generator for the channel frequency and the 10.7 MHz if frequency.  Transmitters require an accurate power meter and a means of setting the frequency and deviation.  A service monitor is nice to have, but hams have made do with various pieces of less expensive equipment.  Of course, the operation of the radio equipment is only as good as the alignment you do; so if you have any doubts about being able to do it properly, you are better off buying equipment factory assembled and tested.

How can I order crystals for my Hamtronics exciter and receiver?

Because we no longer make crystal controlled equipment, we recommend you buy crystals directly from International Crystal Mfg. Co.   You can email Sara Gore <sarag@icmfg.com> and let her know what you need.

 

When ordering, just specify the channel frequency and the model of the module it goes in.  You do not need to specify crystal frequency or other specs.  They have that in their computers.

How can I get a new eprom for my COR-4, COR-5, or CWID-2?

A new eprom for the COR-4, CWID-2, or COR-5 costs $50 plus shipping and handling (normally $6.95 in U.S.).   Because of a shortage of these devices, we need to get your old eprom back to reprogram.

You might want to combine it with something else to save shipping costs. Be sure to advise exactly how you want the call letters programmed. An REP-200 eprom (COR-5) contains all the optional settings listed on the printout we gave you with the repeater. Best way to let us know is to mark up one copy of that sheet with changes you would like. The operator's manual explains possible settings.
